Struct DnsSocket

pub struct DnsSocket<'a> { /* private fields */ }
Available on crate feature dns only.
Expand description

DNS client compatible with the embedded-nal-async traits.

This exists only for compatibility with crates that use embedded-nal-async. Prefer using Stack::dns_query directly if you’re not using embedded-nal-async.

Implementations§

§

impl<'a> DnsSocket<'a>

pub fn new(stack: Stack<'a>) -> DnsSocket<'a>

Create a new DNS socket using the provided stack.

NOTE: If using DHCP, make sure it has reconfigured the stack to ensure the DNS servers are updated.

pub async fn query( &self, name: &str, qtype: Type, ) -> Result<Vec<Address, embassy_net::::dns::{impl#2}::query::{opaque#0}::{constant#0}>, Error>

Make a query for a given name and return the corresponding IP addresses.

Trait Implementations§

§

impl<'a> Dns for DnsSocket<'a>

§

type Error = Error

The type returned when we have an error
§

async fn get_host_by_name( &self, host: &str, addr_type: AddrType, ) -> Result<IpAddr, <DnsSocket<'a> as Dns>::Error>

Resolve the first ip address of a host, given its hostname and a desired address record type to look for
§

async fn get_host_by_address( &self, _addr: IpAddr, _result: &mut [u8], ) -> Result<usize, <DnsSocket<'a> as Dns>::Error>

Resolve the hostname of a host, given its ip address. Read more
